BAROLO DOCG

Bric di Casa begins with Lorenzo, who grew up in the Langhe but left young to discover the world.

Whenever he returned, he climbed the same bric behind his village. After years of travelling, he realised that the landscape was not simply the place he had left; it was the place he belonged to. From there came the search for a Barolo capable of expressing that feeling of return, authenticity and home.

The 2022 label tells this story of return through hills, vineyard rows and a small rural silhouette. Its dusty purple tones give the project an intimate, contemporary character. No personal name appears on the label: the place itself, Bric di Casa, remains the protagonist.

In Piedmontese, “bric” refers to a high point or plot on a hill. “Di Casa” adds the personal dimension: the familiar place one belongs to and returns to. The name therefore brings together territory and memory, landscape and conviviality.

Lorenzo begins to discover the Langhe in a new way. He visits historic wineries and small family estates, speaks with growers, tastes different Barolos and learns how a few metres, a different exposure or a change in soil can transform Nebbiolo.
One evening around a table, a question turns curiosity into a project: “If we had to choose our Barolo, which one would it be?” It is not about creating a winery. It is about finding a wine that is elegant without being distant, important yet shareable, complex without losing the pleasure of being together.
When he finds the spot from where he can best represent this idea, Lorenzo names it Bric di Casa: the symbolic place where the search begins and where, in the end, every journey leads back.
